Sheraton will bring together some of Australia’s most inspiring chefs and industry leaders to deliver a series of culinary experiences over four locations.
Kicking off in October, these events will serve up the best in food and drink starting with a festival across four days in Port Douglas, followed by a series of Sheraton summer events in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast.
After a four-year hiatus, Taste Port Douglas will return from October 7-10 featuring some of Australia’s leading chefs including Ben Williamson, Alanna Sapwell, Laura Sharrad and Massimo Mele.
There will also be Sheraton Festival Village with cooking demonstrations and all-day beach bar, and Saturday evening’s Harry Hawker Street Food Party.
Marriott’s regional boss Sean Hunt said they were thrilled to be a part of the festival.
“We partner with some of Australia’s leading chefs to bring this message to life in our favourite Australian resort destination with the return of Taste Port Douglas, along with exciting events to follow across Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast over the summer months when we can look forward to travelling further afield again,” he said.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland CEO Mark Olsen said Taste Port Douglas will help raise the profile of the region’s food and beverage offering.
“Many Australian visitors are only just discovering our excellent tropical produce and cuisine is an attraction too,” he said.
The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, Sheraton Melbourne Hotel and Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast will also be hosting their own culinary events throughout summer with appearances by some of Australia’s favourite chefs including Colin Fassnidge, Manu Feildel and Adrian Richardson.
