WOMADelaide will return to Adelaide’s Botanic Park in March but will be off limits for anyone who is unvaccinated.
Set to take place on March 11-14, the festival organisers announced that only fully vaccinated patrons, staff, stall holders and artists will be allowed to take part. The vaccination requirement only applies to those over the age of 16 years old.
The maximum daily capacity in Botanic Park will also be reduced from 25,000 a day to 18,000 a day.
WOMADelaide director Ian Scobie told InDaily they would have preferred if the government had set a vaccination mandate but had to make their own call ahead of ticket sales.
“We have to put tickets on sale… we felt that from that point, when we put tickets on sale, we need to be very clear that people will have to be vaccinated to attend,” he said.
