WA launches tourism jobs website to alleviate staffing shortage

A new purpose-built website has been launched in WA to connect job seekers with opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industries.

Developed by Tourism WA in partnership with the Australian Hotels Association WA, the free website also offers job seekers training, visa support, seasonal opportunities and information on regional destinations.

The launch of the new employment website follows an announcement earlier last week of an interstate and international marketing campaign to attract working holiday makers to WA to coincide with the early resumption of the Qantas direct flight from London to Perth.

“We have the lowest unemployment rate in Australia and a record 1 million people in full-time work,” said Tourism Minister Roger Cook.

“But the demand for tourism and travel to our great State means we need hundreds, even thousands, of extra full-time and casual workers.

“We need them in the city and in the regions.

“This is a great collaboration between Tourism WA and the Australian Hotels Association to work together for the benefit of all tourism and hospitality businesses.”
