The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) has appointed Searoad Ferries CEO Matt McDonald as its new Chair.
McDonald has served as VTIC Deputy Chair since November 2017..
Anne Jamieson, VTIC Board member and CEO of Saxton Speakers Bureau, has been appointed VTIC’s new Deputy Chair and will work alongside Mr McDonald for the three-year term.
“We are thrilled to welcome Matt as Chair and Anne as Deputy,” said chief executive Felicia Mariani. “Matt is an accomplished business leader and a fierce supporter of the state’s tourism sector – particularly for regional Victoria, where his business, Searoad Ferries, is based.
“Matt’s ability to innovate and think strategically will be an asset to the Board, and we are excited to continue our work and plan the future direction for the industry.”
Mariani also thanked outgoing Chair Charles Davidson, founder and director of Peninsula Hot Springs, for the many achievements he secured for members.
“VTIC has had a most positive and productive working relationship with Charles,” she said. “His commitment to and passion for our industry has been evident in all he’s done over the past three years and leaves a solid legacy upon which the Board can continue to build.”
