Victoria and Queensland scrap masks as restrictions wind back further

Queensland and Victoria are scrapping mask rules in venues and most indoor settings as restrictions wind back.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced masks will no longer be required in most settings and density limits in venues will scrapped from March 4.

“This is all about getting our lives back to a new normal,” she said.

Victoria will also lift its mask mandate in most indoor settings from this Friday although they are still recommended for workers serving or facing members of the public.

“We’re balancing the need to support our health system with the benefits of easing restrictions in a careful and sensible way,” said Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley.
