The news comes after several months of negotiations, with Manish Chandak continuing as the current President and CEO of Ungerboeck and EventBooking’s Steve Mackenzie taking on the role of Executive Vice President of Ungerboeck.
The companies share the same core values: focusing on the customer, providing innovative products, and fostering engaged and empowered teams. This merger presents an opportunity to fully align those values, increase capabilities, and propel customers’ business to outstanding new heights.
“There has always been a mutual respect between our two companies, and now, rather than have two teams developing competing offerings, we can have one team and one shared roadmap with a focus on maximising client value and expediting new innovation,” said Mackenzie.
“By joining forces, we’ll be able to sharpen each other and provide even greater value for venue professionals worldwide.”
Chandak sees the potential in leveraging each company’s key resources to open the door to a wider customer base and improve client satisfaction.
“We want to create new possibilities, and we’ll be better positioned to focus on client needs, both known and potential,” he said.
“Our differences make this endeavor extremely valuable, but both organisations share a vision for putting their clients first. That vision and commitment won’t change.”
Ungerboeck has over 35 years of experience in event platform building with more than 50,000 users across more than 50 countries, making it the event industry’s technology leader worldwide.
EventBooking’s VenueOps software is only four years old but is already widely recognised in the industry for its intuitiveness and ease of use. It’s designed for venues of all sizes, from theaters to convention centers. Over 350 venues in 24 countries have adopted VenueOps to manage their venues.
The unified company looks forward to collectively assessing how to best serve incoming business. The team will look at the needs of potential clients and match them to the unique advantages of each software tool, with the goal of powering the events industry with more innovation and solutions that span the event life cycle.
“We’ll learn from each other and continue learning from those we serve, finding better ways to transform their businesses and simplify their day-to-day lives,” Chandak said.
The merger gives Ungerboeck an unrivaled position within the events industry and will power the most venues in the world. This means even greater success for customers and prospective clients.
“We’re better together as we unify our efforts to provide easy-to-learn and powerful products to drive the industry forward, all while we marry the aspects that clients love about each,” Mackenzie said.
“And, of course, the biggest focus will always be on service and ensuring we continue to set the standard in this area.”
