Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has announced its executive leadership team.
Joining Te Pae Christchurch general manager Ross Steele as part of the convention centre’s senior team are Karine Legeay-Fisher (director of event services), Gillian Officer (director of business development), Ben Buchanan (director of business services), Darren Tait (director of culinary services), Vanessa McBean (director of human resources) and Ken Davidson (building services).
Steele says he is looking forward to working with the new team as they launch the purpose-designed venue over the next 12 months.
“We’re extremely pleased with the calibre of our executive appointments,” he said. “Each team member brings an essential skillset, experience and industry knowledge which will prove invaluable as we deliver on our strategic priorities over the course of the next year.”
Legeay-Fisher was most recently the commercial and operations manager of Ōtākaro; Officer was previously at the SKYCITY Convention Centre; Buchanan was one of the opening team at ICC Sydney; Tait was the food and beverage manager at Christchurch Casino; McBean was the regional HR manager at Farmers; and Davidson has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years.
The organisation will ultimately employ up to 200 full and part time staff to meet a wide range of requirements from guest services and catering to engineering and audio-visual production and management.
All of the executive team members, who are based in Christchurch, have now joined the business in preparation for Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre opening in October 2020.
