The Australian Turf Club (ATC) has unveiled Sydney’s newest venue with the completion of the $46 million WINX Stand at Royal Randwick.
Named in honour of the racehorse Winx, the two-level state-of-the-art venue offers 5,043 sqm of flexible floor space which includes The Pavilion on the ground floor, and the Gallery South, Gallery North and Gallery Terrace on level one.
The ground floor features an expansive, fully enclosed indoor space flooded with natural light from floor to high ceiling glass and offers 2,300 sqm that can host 2,030 pax for a conference, 3,000 for a cocktail event, 1,800 banquet style and 94 stands for an exhibition, accompanied by outdoor event and activation spaces.
Level one of the WINX Stand features two fully enclosed modern indoor spaces connected by a sweeping open-air outdoor terrace, with each Gallery space designed to host 530 pax for a conference, 500 for cocktails and 400 banquet style. The WINX Stand can host 4,000 cocktail-style throughout the venue.
“As restrictions ease and the world re-opens, the WINX Stand will be a compelling drawcard for both domestic and global business events,” said Lyn Lewis-Smith, CEO of Business Events Sydney.
“I’m excited about the potential this new venue presents for a broad range of business events, and it will help strengthen Sydney’s reputation as a pre-eminent business events destination in the APAC region.”
Melinda Madigan, executive general manager, commercial at ATC, said the new venue would play a role in the state’s post-Covid recovery.
“Not surprisingly we are seeing extensive demand and inquiries, with the venue fully booked out for its first month of opening and strong bookings already throughout 2022,” she said.
“The new WINX Stand has now taken Royal Randwick’s unique venue offering to a whole new level.”
