Qantas adds extra Cairns to Uluru flights

Qantas will add an extra 37,000 seats per year on to its Cairns-Uluru route helping international visitors tick off their bucket list reef and rock double bill.

“The announcement to increase Qantas’ flight frequency from Cairns to Uluru to a daily service in 2024 will be critical to boosting our industry, with significant lead time for agents to package and sell overseas,” said Tourism and Hospitality Minister Nicole Manison.

The move is an important boost for tourism in the Northern Territory which was hit by Qantas’ decision to slash 30,000 seats to Alice Springs and Uluru earlier this year.

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia chief executive Matthew Cameron-Smith said the new flights would provide a “premium experience for travellers wanting to experience the spiritual heart of our country”.
