The 2022 Perth Festival has received a $7.7 million boost thanks to Lotterywest.
The grant will open up local arts initiatives and avenues for Western Australian artists and creative organisations to join Perth Festival through its Connect program providing local WA creatives the opportunity to work alongside local and national artists.
“Perth Festival is an exciting time for the local arts and events sectors,” said WA Premier Mark McGowan.
“The 2022 festival features all-Australian work, which is a chance to support local artists and encourage us to be proud of world-class talent in our own backyard.
“I hope we can mirror the success of last season’s festival, which saw more than 470,000 attendees unite through shared cultural experiences.”
Perth MLA John Carey said Perth Festival was a highlight of the city’s culture and arts calendar.
“The McGowan Government has always been a strong supporter of the Perth Festival and our local arts scene, and the $7.7 million Lotterywest grant will help make sure the 2022 festival is one of the best yet,” he said.
