LGAQ Conference sees record attendance for 125th anniversary at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) has wrapped its annual conference with a record attendance at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC).

It was also the largest conference staged at MECC since the pandemic hit in March 2020.

It was the third time that the LGAQ Conference had been staged at the MECC, with LGAQ Conference coordinator Nicole Johnson saying it was fitting to return to Mackay for the association’s milestone 125th birthday.

The four-day conference followed hot on the heels of the 2021 Mackay Isaac Tourism Awards which saw MECC named Gold Winner in the Business Event Venues category for a third time, having won in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
