Le Méridien Melbourne is gearing up to open in March 2023 marking the return of the brand to Australia.
The 235-room hotel on Bourke Street will offer a dedicated meetings and events floor with 421sqm of function space, a rooftop outdoor heated swimming pool overlooking the city skyline, an all-day dining restaurant, bar and cafe.
“With its premium CBD location, showpiece rooftop pool deck, and immersive arts and culinary programme, the property will continue the century-long legacy the site has held as an entertainment playground for Melburnians and visitors,” said Marriott International’s local boss Sean Hunt.
The converted 12-storey building features a historical art deco façade with mid-century style interiors designed to reflect the brand’s European heritage.
General manager Peter Minatsis said the brand “has a classic sensibility connected back to centuries of European hospitality”.
“We look forward to ‘drawing back the curtain’ on Melbourne’s glamourous new visitor offering this summer and connecting guests with the city’s rich history, art, and culture,” he said.
