EVT is expanding its budget accommodation brand LyLo into the Australian market after its New Zealand launch, with the first property to open in Brisbane this year in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

Opening in April, LyLo Brisbane will feature a mix of private sleeping pods in 6 and 4 pod rooms, including female-only rooms, private ensuite king rooms and family/group rooms (a queen bed, 2 pods and ensuite).

To create a sense of community, the property will also feature a rooftop hangout space with a shared kitchen, self-pouring beer, wine, and cocktails on tap, as well as a bespoke co-working space with free unlimited wi-fi and a wellness area.

LyLo also has plans to open additional sites, including a flagship development on the Gold Coast and a location in Fremantle, with opening dates to be announced.

Tim Alpe, LyLo’s managing director, said the brand has “flipped budget accommodation on its head”.

“LyLo Brisbane is meticulously designed based on real insights into what a social traveller needs, mixed with stylish finishes,” he said.

“Our first EVT property in Australia has been designed for travellers to stay in both an epic and affordable way by providing all the perks of communal and social travel with the privacy of their own comfortable sleeping space. We cannot wait to open LyLo Brisbane and are excited for more LyLo sites in Australia over the coming years.”
