Brisbane Marriott Hotel’s makeover makes the most of its riverfront location

“Brisbane Marriott Hotel is one of the best located hotels in the city,” says General Manager Kelvin Ramm. He’s not boasting, this is just simple fact.

Many may already know Brisbane Marriott Hotel, it’s been a city staple in the luxury hotel scene for decades and was the hotel of choice for US President Barack Obama and his government entourage when they came over for the G20 in 2014.

The hotel’s classic style has been given a makeover with a full refurbishment in 2019 updating all 267 guest rooms and suites, Executive Lounge, two floors of event space and signature restaurant Motion Dining.

The hotel delivers a sense of grandeur from the first step inside the lobby, with its cascading chandelier, ornate marble tiles and gold-framed elevator.

For a birds-eye view head to the first of two events floors which have been thoughtfully redesigned using lots of floor-to-ceiling glass to make the most of the space and natural light. Motion Dining offers a spacious venue with an open grill. But it’s the seafood that brings in the crowds. Overseen by Executive Chef Peter Iwanczyk, Motion Dining’s menu showcases some of the best beef and seafood Australia has to offer, with the hotel’s iconic seafood buffet reimagined on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Also featuring direct views of the Story Bridge, the River Terrace is an alfresco blank canvas that makes the most of the city’s balmy climate.
