The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is calling on emerging young leaders of the business events industry to “road test” its major work to develop a Sustainability Charter and Framework for the industry.
This follows the announcement in June last year that the Association had committed to a major new initiative designed to make environmental sustainability a major focus for the business events industry.
A Board-led Environmental Sustainability Working Group has completed the first phase of its work and is seeking the feedback of young business events sector professionals.
“Two back-to-back Young Stars Sustainability Forums will be held at International Convention Centre Sydney and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 25 February and 26 February respectively,” said EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio.
“It’s critical that our next generation leaders help us to shape this strategy and the programs that will stem from it.
“We invite the industry to join us for these important workshops – we don’t want to undertake this work in a vacuum. Collaboration is essential.”
Insights gathered at the Young Stars Sustainability Forums will be shared with the EEAA Executive Board later that week. Attendees are also invited to a networking reception following the workshops.
