Construction has begun on Kalgoorlie’s $25 million Hilton golf course resort.
The first work on the 120-room Doubletree resort begins today, two years after the major development was first mooted.
Pacifica Developments director John Zendler said the delay had given stakeholders more time to refine the final product.
“We are probably going to end up with a more evolved building which will be a better fit for the town than if we had just rushed in and started something,” he told The Kalgoorlie Miner.
“We are used to being patient with these things, but it probably did take a lot longer than every-body thought.
The resort is slated to open in the last quarter of 2020.
