Work has officially begun on the luxury hotel that will be located in Adelaide’s former General Post Office building.
Slated to open in 2023, the $200 million hotel will offer 285 rooms, alongside five conference and function spaces, four restaurants and bars, a Club Lounge, swimming pool and fitness centre.
Originally to be branded a Westin, Marriott International said all luxury brand options are on the cards at the present.
“Expanding Marriott International’s presence into Adelaide is a strategically important advancement for our company as we are very confident that South Australia will see strong future tourism growth,” said Marriott International senior development director Richard Crawford.
“Hotels under Marriott International’s 30 global brands enjoy a loyal following around the world and our new foothold in Adelaide will attract new leisure and corporate visitors to the city from interstate and overseas.”
