Western Sydney International Airport designed for ‘fast, easy and seamless’ travel

The public has been given a first look at the final design of the Western Sydney International Airport terminal, with airport chief executive Simon Hickey saying it will enable “fast, easy and seamless” travel.

Scheduled to open in Badgerys Creek in 2026, Hickey said the terminal’s in-built operational efficiency will provide “an environment where passengers arrive at the aircraft feeling relaxed and ready to fly”.

Multiplex is building the terminal, which will use natural light to maximum effect and a include a “destination” forecourt that could be used for produce markets, festivals and community events.

“We are determined to have an airport and a terminal that reflects the confidence, the aspiration and the growth of Western Sydney,” Federal Minister Paul Fletcher said.
