Western Sydney AFL women’s club founder to open PCOA 2019

Amna Karra-Hassan has been announced as the opening keynote speaker at the PCOA 2019 conference.

Amna’s inspirational story is about her journey through adversity, hope and achieving the ‘impossible’ and it resonates perfectly with the PCOA19 conference theme – ‘Anything is Possible – where ingenuity, creativity and unpredictability meet’.

In Amna’s opening presentation she will share her experiences of mental toughness, resilience, consistency, fortitude, fear of success and self-sabotage, self-talk and aspiration.

Amna founded the first AFL women’s team in Western Sydney. The Western Sydney club, with its engagement with diverse communities, played a critical role in establishing the game in the region and contributed to the recent inauguration of the GWS Giants in the AFLW.

Amna will share her experiences in collaborating with community leaders, small-business owners, local government, traditional and social media, and thought leaders. She will describe how she engages in the story-telling process to help others overcome adversity, build confidence and resilience, and lead with perseverance and courage.

She will also offer insights on how she led the growth of the Auburn Giants, and the importance of leveraging media.
