Virgin Australia’s 10 million loyalty members will have their Velocity Points protected regardless of who takes over the beleaguered carrier.
A report in The Courier Mail says that bidder Bain Capital would also honour all tickets that were cancelled when COVID-19 grounded the aviation sector.
Velocity members can redeem points on domestic flights for travel from September after they were frozen in April.
Cyrus Capital has also said it would protect and honour points and travel credits.
“Rewarding customer loyalty is also important to Cyrus, especially at this time,” the investment firm said.
