Venice Film Festival sticks to September dates

The Venice Film Festival is sticking to its plans for September despite the iconic Cannes festival recently cancelling this year.

The Venice Film Festival will go ahead on September 2-12, according to Venice Biennial president Roberto Cicutto.

Venice is looking at options to ensure the September festival will go ahead as planned, including a digital option for foreign press and potentially using cinemas.

The Cannes Film Festival postponed this year’s event, once to mid-July and a second time indefinitely.
