Two new faces at Singapore Tourism Board’s local office

Oliver Chong joins STB's Oceania office.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Oceania is pleased to announce two new appointments, with Oliver Chong taking on the role of executive director Oceania and Anthony Valeriano joining the team as manager, Oceania.

Starting next month, Chong will oversee the operations and in-market activities carried out by the STB Oceania team based in Sydney.

An STB veteran, Oliver joined the Singapore Tourism Board in 1993, and has held several leadership positions from communications and mega events to media relations and marketing and capability development.

He was also Regional Director Europe, where he steered the operations and in-market activities that were carried out in Europe by STB’s Frankfurt, London and Moscow regional offices to achieve positive growth in visitor arrivals from European markets.

“I’m looking forward to returning to regional office work and especially building on the fantastic work that the team has been doing so far,” he said. “We know Aussies and Kiwis enjoy visiting Singapore, so I’m delighted to be able to share some ideas to both inspire new visitors and also enhance their stay with us.”

Valeriano started this month, overseeing the leisure trade portfolio, development of trade training programs, and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders. He comes to the STB with over 20 years’ experience within the travel industry, having worked in a number of roles across sales and marketing.

Stephanie Yong, STB’s area director Oceania, said they were thrilled to have them join the Oceania team.

“Their combined and extensive experience and knowledge will be invaluable assets in our ongoing efforts to promote Singapore to Australians and New Zealanders,” she said.
