A Sydney-based travel wholesaler collapsed just before Christmas leaving its clients in limbo.

Excite Holidays has collapsed into voluntary administration, posting on Facebook it was currently experiencing “system issues”.

“Both our system and customer service teams are working through these issues now to ensure we can service our agents as quickly as possible,” the company wrote.

“Please bear with us as we manage the situation at hand.”

The company is reported to have let a number of its staff go just before Christmas. Last year also saw the company withdraw from the Australian travel accreditation scheme in 2019 that protects travellers from losses when companies go under.
