Townsville is set to welcome its first luxury hotel with Ardo, an $88 million development that will include 132-rooms, world-class dining and a rooftop pool deck set to open at the end of 2023.

Morris Group are preparing to unveil their latest project, with founder and executive chairman Chris Morris saying Ardo would provide a boost for North Queensland’s tourism industry.

“We know that North Queensland has so much to offer as a destination, so there is huge demand for domestic and international visitors to travel here,” he said.

“But what we’ve discovered is there is still a gap in the market for luxury accommodation, so what we’re doing with Ardo is building on what we already do so well, providing another opportunity for high-end experiences in this very special part of the world.”

The majority of Ardo’s 132 rooms and suites will enjoy sea views while eight of the rooms also feature baths on the balconies which face directly out to the Coral Sea and Magnetic Island.

The dining options include rooftop restaurant Marmor with a focus on contemporary Australian cuisine and ground floor Japanese restaurant Terasu.

Sitting alongside Ardo is Morris Group’s other Townsville resort, The Ville with guests able to use The Ville precinct’s amenities. Also nearby is the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre.

“While The Ville provides relaxed, tropical surroundings and casual sophistication, Ardo will offer a luxury accommodation experience for travellers seeking a more high-end stay,” said Morris.

“With Ardo joining The Ville, and the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on the Breakwater, what we’ve created will enhance the precinct, and become the region’s leisure and entertainment hub.”
