The Tasman opens in Hobart marking Australian debut of Marriott’s Luxury Collection brand

The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, has officially opened marking the debut of The Luxury Collection brand in Australia.

“Hobart is a truly captivating and dynamic city, allowing a seamless fit for The Luxury Collection, known for creating experiences for global explorers in some of the world’s most enchanting destinations,” said Philipp Weghmann, vice president and global brand leader of The Luxury Collection.

The Tasman offers 152 guest rooms and suites carefully conceived to showcase the  architectural narrative of the property which is divided into three sections – The Heritage Building, the hotel’s Art Deco rooms and the contemporary Pavilion Building which includes the rooftop Aurora Suite with an expansive entertainment terrace for hosting private events.

Peppina’s menu is overseen by renowned chef Massimo Mele.

The Tasman also features three distinct epicurean experiences; Peppina, the hotel’s signature restaurant with a menu overseen by renowned chef Massimo Mele, cocktail bar Mary Mary and The Deco Lounge.

There is 769 square meters of meeting space spread over seven customisable rooms including the Cumulo Room, which features floor-to-ceiling windows framing an outdoor terrace, and underground warehouse-style events space Parco that is perfect for cocktail parties or trade events for up to 400 people.

The hotel also offers Tasmania’s only Clefs d’Or concierge helping guests discover the work of local artisans and unearth the stories behind the island’s celebrated produce with exclusive purveyor visits and epicurean moments within the hotel.
