Thailand’s new health and safety certification for venues

Thailand’s tourism sector is working on a new program that will prepare operators for a new world of health and hygiene standards post Covid-19.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with the public and private sector partners, is introducing an “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” certification aimed at elevating the country’s tourism industry standards and developing confidence among international and domestic tourists.

Works in process include establishing the SHA criteria, introducing the committee, preparing the application and selection process, and planning marketing and publicity for the SHA-certified tourism establishments and services.

The main focus of the certification will be on Covid-19 control guidelines for tourism operators and increased hygiene and sanitation protocols across all venues and transportation with the aim of increasing confidence for visitors.
