Thailand launches new MICE Hygiene Guidelines to boost business confidence

Over the past weeks, Thailand has put strategies in action as the world eases itself into a post-Covid-19 landscape.

Following on from conversations with overseas event organisers and the larger community of experts, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched its MICE Hygiene Guidelines to boost business confidence and alleviate concern over health and safety matters.

These guidelines are aligned with Thai central government policies and will be used by MICE hotels and venues across Thailand to implement their respective safety and hygiene procedures.

TCEB also addressed some of the concerns on elevating safety and hygiene standards on incentive products and tourist establishments by collaborating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to create the “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” certification.

“Some of you assured us that experienced meeting and incentive bookers trust that Thailand will adhere to global expectations and that hygiene and safety measures are not key factors to the decision making process,” said Nichapa Yoswee, TCEB’s SVP of Strategic Marketing and Business Development.

“Our private sector took on your advice to include fact-based safety and hygiene measures into their proposals to support you in managing expectations of travellers who have not been to Thailand. As we progress further into the easing of travel restrictions with confidence, rest assured that Thailand will be ready to rekindle old friendships in the brand new way of face to face connections.”
