Thai Airways returns to Perth Airport with daily service

Perth Airport has welcomed back Thai Airways with the return of a daily service to Bangkok.

Thai Airways is operating the daily service with a B787-8 aircraft, which has a total of 256 seats configured with 22 Business Class seats and 234 Economy Class seats.

“The return of this service will deliver a significant 186,368 seats and 14,000 tonnes of cargo capacity to the Perth market annually,” said Kate Holsgrove, Perth Airport’s chief commercial and aviation officer.

“With Thailand being a popular holiday destination and Bangkok being a major hub for flight connections right around the globe, Western Australians will enjoy increased air connectivity for business or leisure.

“Securing non-stop services to international destinations continues to be a high priority for Perth Airport.”

Perth Airport began the year on a high with a record 1.39 million passengers transiting through the airport in January.

Inbound international flights in January and February 2024 have surpassed pre-pandemic figures and the State expects a full recovery of international visitation next year.

“We look forward to growing these figures and reaching new heights through our continued support of the state’s aviation sector,” said WA Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti.

“We’ve now connected Western Australia to 19 international destinations and we remain the only direct aviation connections to the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, cementing Perth’s reputation as the Western Gateway to Australia.”
