A new winter festival will take over Sydney with music and art on display across the CBD, Newtown, Oxford Street, and Darling Harbour for two weeks in June.

First announced in March, Sydney Solstice aims to add another reason to visit Sydney during the winter alongside the Vivid festival in August.

The program offers more than 200 different experiences to choose from across restaurants, pubs, live music venues and galleries. Some of Sydney’s best known chefs and restaurateurs are also hosting Sydney Solstice events including Matt Moran and Colin Fassnidge.

The Sydney Opera House will display the work of six female First Nations artists every sunset, while Indigenous performances will take place in the forecourt.

The festival also includes the first-ever Country and Inner Western Festival in Newtown, with a series of free and ticketed events.
