Sydney Showground launches new event support options

Sydney Showground has launched a range of COVID-19 support options for all events booked before the end of 2021.

In addition to its NSW Government COVID safe status, Sydney Showground is implementing special offers which include financial assistance, no fee event postponement up to three months prior, multiple event agreements and additional social distancing space to encourage event bookings.

Sydney Showground general manager Peter Thorpe is hoping the new support options will allow clients to book with confidence.

“The air of uncertainty in the events industry at the moment is crippling to not only venues and organisers but suppliers, caterers, the list goes on,” he said.

“Planning events in a COVID-19 world means circumstances can change within weeks if not days, so to combat this lack of security we decided to create new support options which give events the best possible chance to proceed.

“If events are to continue, venues and event organisers need to work together, and while we have a long road ahead of us, we hope this initiative will ease the minds of organiser hesitant to secure space and kick-start smaller events which can operate safely within government regulations and those looking to run in 2021.”
