Sydney Showground filled its halls for the first time since February as it hosted the Annual Wedding Expo at the end of September.
With increased space, aisles double the size, single entry and exit points, and COVID-19 Safe Hygiene Marshals, Sydney Showground and Wedding Expos Australia managed to pull off a successful and safe event, welcoming over 1500 attendees while working within the current guidelines.
Wedding Expos Australia event manager Deborah Bilson said that with the right planning and precautions it is still possible deliver great events in the current climate.
“The exhibition was a success and displayed positive progress to operate events again in a new world,” she said.
“We showcased 100 bridal exhibitors and checked in over 1600 visitors throughout a five-hour time period. On behalf of the team, we thank everyone who supported the event.”
Sydney Showground head of sales Andrew Roberts welcomed the return of Sydney’s Annual Wedding Expo after such a “difficult time”.
“It has been such a difficult time in the Australian event industry, so to run an expo at our site for the first time in over eight months and prove that we can still deliver safe and successful events within the current guidelines is a great achievement,” Roberts said.
