Stunning new beachside convention centre opens in Vietnam

A striking new multipurpose convention centre has opened in Vietnam overlooking Long Beach on the Cam Ranh peninsula.

With a design inspired by the country’s coracle boat, Axi Plaza features a state-of-the-art conference hall, 360-degree rooftop venue, outdoor beachfront event space and large shopping and dining precinct.

The largest multipurpose convention centre in the region, Axi Plaza is adjacent to the 213-room Anam Cam Ranh hotel, which opened in 2017.

The venue’s 1197sqm conference hall and ballroom on the third floor accommodate up to 1000 people. The hall features a 75sqm LED screen and panoramic vistas encompassing swimming pools, a manicured lawn and the ocean.

Totalling 1077sqm, the rooftop area on the fifth floor has been designed for receptions and company events.

The outdoor event space situated between the venue and the beach is underpinned by a lawn that fronts three swimming pools.

Situated behind Axi Plaza’s vast second floor entrance and reception area, the 200sqm Axi Plaza Lounge also overlooks the swimming pools and serves Vietnamese fare.

“Axi Plaza is a game changer for Cam Ranh and Vietnam’s entire coastline – there’s nothing like it for business and leisure travellers alike,” said Anam Group founder Pham Van Hien.

“Building Axi Plaza in the shape of a large thung chai boat, resting beside waters still plied by traditional boats, is a bold and striking way to pay homage to Vietnam with contemporary flair.”
