Sri Lanka roadshow heads to Melbourne and Sydney

The Sri Lankan Convention Bureau is heading to Sydney and Melbourne in September to showcase the country to event organisers.

Following the Easter Sunday terror attacks which saw visitation levels plunge, a range of fresh investment has helped the island nation make a “remarkable” recovery and be “very much open for business”, according to Sri Lanka’s Minister for Tourism Development, John Amaratunga.

Building on this momentum, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau is inviting meeting and event planners, corporate travel experts and their clients to taste the island destination’s rich culture and delectable cuisine.

The two events also coincide with Sri Lanka offering free tourism visas on arrival to citizens of 48 countries including Australia. The visa waiver will remain for six months.

The events will be held in Melbourne on Tuesday September 3 at the Park Hyatt and in Sydney on Thursday September 5 at the Four Seasons.
