Singapore is piloting pre-event testing from mid-October to December to identify a model that can be widely implemented so that more large-scale events can safely resume.
The pilot is currently trialing at Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) this week, with participants tested either at the event venue or at a separate testing facility. Only participants who have tested negative will be allowed to participate in the event.
UFI has welcomed the pilot program, saying it would help reopen exhibitions and business events globally.
“It is encouraging to see Singapore taking a lead here in Asia, and we encourage other authorities to follow Singapore’s approach”, said UFI CEO Kai Hattendorf.
