SeaLink Tasmania appoints new general manager

Simon Tamlyn has been appointed general manager at SeaLink Tasmania.

Simon Tamlyn has been appointed general manager at SeaLink Tasmania, following the retirement of Tania Matthews.

Tamlyn will manage the SeaLink Bruny Island service including the three Bruny Island ferries.

Tamlyn previously worked for Hobart Airport as business manager – trading and performance.

“My experience at the Hobart Airport perfectly aligns with SeaLink Tasmania, especially as we all turn a significant corner in the travel and tourism industry,” said Tamlyn.

“We need to be bold and creative in how we continue to build and enhance our customers’ travel experiences.

“Bruny Island is an amazing destination offering a smorgasbord of food and wine, walking trails, marine adventures, as well as the ultimate road trip and is a mecca for nature and wildlife lovers.

“SeaLink’s ferry services operate 365 days a year, and we are committed in showcasing this rare diamond to local and international travellers in all seasons, presenting our industry-leading customer service along the way.”

SeaLink chief operating officer Donna Gauci welcomed Tamlyn in his new role and thanked Matthews for her commitment during her two years in the role.

“Simon’s extensive knowledge in travel and customer service will be invaluable to us and our customers as we continue to build SeaLink’s Bruny Island ferry service for locals and visitors,” Gauci said.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Tania for her overwhelming commitment to the role and wish her the very best for her retirement.”
