Holiday Inn Dandenong has opened its doors today with IHG veteran Scott Schaefer leading the team as general manager.
Hotel owner Pelligra Group have invested $12 million to create a next-generation Holiday Inn featuring the brand’s new signature Open Lobby concept, conference rooms and Dandelion Lounge + Eatery.
All rooms have been fully transformed alongside 16 newbuild rooms; configurations range from King Suites to Double Premium and Queen Standard.
The hotel’s 154 square metres of function space includes its largest meeting room, the Dandenong Room, which caters for up to 120 people or be split into two smaller rooms. The addition of a dance floor transforms Dandenong Room into a ballroom. The third space is a separate, light-filled boardroom designed for smaller meetings.
Built-in AV facilities with drop-down screens and projectors feature in all meeting and event rooms, plus lecterns and in-room buffets are available to suit different event needs.
Schaefer has spent the past 15 years working in management roles within IHG, most recently supporting three Holiday Inn hotels and the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort.
He is supported by hotel services manager Sam Wolfgram who joins the team from Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders.

“As we count down to the hotel’s opening at the end of this month, we are incredibly proud to be a key part of Central Dandenong’s rejuvenation.”
Scott Bissi has been appointed business development manager while executive chef Atish Chaudhuri will head up the hotel’s all-day dining offering at Dandelion Lounge & Eatery, delivering Mediterranean-inspired dining, including wood-fired pizzas.
