Saxton Speakers CEO recognised for her contribution to the Victorian tourism industry

Saxton Speakers CEO Anne Jamieson was presented with the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual award at the Victorian Tourism Awards ceremony.

Jamieson was acknowledged for her exceptional contribution to the business events, accommodation and tourism industries as both a business leader and mentor throughout her 35-year career.

“I am incredibly proud and honoured to be recognised with this award and to join the company of past winners,” she said.

“This industry, which I am so passionate about, continues to evolve and grow and constantly achieve new milestones. I am really proud to have been a part of this and in some small way contribute to its evolution.”

Over the last 12 months at Saxton, Jamieson has rebranded the organisation, overseen the acquisition of an influencer business, signed hundreds of new speakers and managed the pitching, booking and delivery process for over 1200 events across the globe.

She also had a nine-year tenure at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), and was eight years on the board of the not-for-profit Meetings & Events Australia (MEA), four as Chair.

Jamieson continues to volunteer on the Board of the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) and is the Chair of its Events Policy Committee.

“Anne’s passion for the events and hospitality industry was honed earlier in her career in the accommodation sector, having worked across Australia and the Asia Pacific in senior sales and marketing roles in leading international hotel brands,” said Felicia Mariani, CEO at VTIC.

“Since that time, she has brought that passion and professionalism to so many areas of the tourism and events sector.”
