The Tweed Tourism Company has appointed Sally Scott as general manager, stepping up from her former role as industry liaison.
The Tweed Tourism Company is the official tourism development and destination marketing agency for the Tweed through a partnership with Tweed Shire Council.
“The Tweed is a remarkable destination and, together with our talented team, I’m looking forward to building productive collaborations with our stakeholders to implement innovative strategies aligned with my passion for sustainability, wellness and accessibility,” Scott said.
“The Tweed has not only overcome the challenges of recent years but has also demonstrated a remarkable resurgence in terms of tourism recovery and we look forward to further elevating the region’s reputation for strong tourism management and innovative marketing and product development.
“The Tweed’s local businesses are key to the region’s success as a tourism destination and I am excited to continue working in partnership with industry to create memorable experiences for our visitors while ensuring long-term prosperity for the region.”
Mayor Cr Chris Cherry said Scott will be “a great leader” for Tweed Tourism.
“Her passion for clean, green tourism and commitment to the protection of our world heritage environment and Council’s role as custodians make her a natural fit for Tweed,” he said.
