Singer Robbie Williams is suing the Australian Grand Prix Corporation for more than $8 million over the snap cancellation of his performance at Melbourne’s 2020 Formula One event.

The F1 race was cancelled on the day it was meant to open, with the British performer booked to play the following night. His fee for the night was $1.94 million, with punters paying $99 to see the former Take That star.

Touring agency World Touring Melbourne alleges the Australian Grand Prix Corporation breached its obligations by announcing the sudden cancellation on March 13 via teleconference and is suing for more than $8.5 million in total.
