RAC Arena GM Michael Scott honoured at AHA WA Awards as Ritz-Carlton, Perth takes top award

RAC Arena general manager Michael Scott was inducted into the Australian Hotels Association’s (WA) Hall of Fame for his life of dedication and service to the hospitality industry.

Announced at the recent Awards for Excellence, Scott was presented his award by Tourism Minister David Templeman along with AHA’s Accommodation Division President Andrew Cairns.

“Given his impressive resume it would be safe to say that most Western Australians have enjoyed at least one occasion where this person [Michael Scott] has played an instrumental role in making the event possible,” Cairns said.

“Our inductee has led a wonderful team during the most difficult time in the industry’s history and he has placed one of WA’s most important entertainment venues in an excellent position to rebound strongly when borders re-open.”

The Ritz-Carlton, Perth was also named WA’s Best Accommodation Hotel, alongside awards in the Hotel Bar and Hotel Wine List categories.

“We are delighted and grateful to be recognised by the AHA WA for these award categories,” said Dario Orsini, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth’s general manager.

“This is a testament to the dedication of our Ladies and Gentlemen in providing exceptional service and experiences worthy of the WA Best Accommodation Hotel category.”
