Qantas to lure rival flyers with fast track to Gold status

Qantas is looking to attract top tier members of rival loyalty programs by offering them a chance to fast track to Gold status.

“With so much uncertainty in the market, we’ve seen a spike in requests from people wanting us to match their status with other airlines,” said Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth.

“If they are willing to bring their travel across to Qantas, we will fast track them to Gold status.”

If you hold an eligible loyalty status with one of 16 qualifying airlines (Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Air Canada, Air China, Air India, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Delta, Eva Air, Infinity, Korean Air, Shenzhen Airlines, South African Airways, Thai Airways and United Airlines) you can register for the Qantas Status Fast Track program via the website.

Then you need to earn 100 Frequent Flyer status credits in three months before you qualify for Gold tier status.

Registrations for the Qantas Status Fast Track close 18 December 2020.
