Qantas launches new direct Melbourne to Jakarta service

Qantas has introduced a new thrice-weekly service between Melbourne and Jakarta to complement the carrier’s direct daily service between Sydney and the Indonesian capital.

The Airbus A330 service takes around seven hours. Combined, these flights offer choice of ten flights per week equating to around 300,000 seats annually between Australia and Jakarta, more than any other airline including Garuda.

“The route is also a great opportunity for more Indonesians to explore the best of Victoria or visit family and friends, with the flights launching in time for the Lebaran holiday period,” said Qantas Domestic and International CEO Andrew David.
