Qantas cuts more flights as it grapples with falling demand

Qantas has cut more international flights from its schedules as it continues to navigate the fallout from a drop off in demand as the coronavirus spreads globally.

The latest cuts to destinations including Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, Hong Kong and Auckland and are in addition to the grounding of the equivalent of 18 planes in February as it cut international and domestic capacity.

“The coronavirus situation and its impact on international travel demand is evolving and we’re monitoring closely,” Qantas said.

“Further changes are expected.”
