Plans for world’s ‘first space hotel’ unveiled

Designs for the “first space hotel” which could accommodate 400 astro-tourists have been revealed.

The orbiting space station features all the perks of a top tier hotel on earth including restaurants, bars and even a cinema.

Designed by The Gateway Foundation, the Von Braun Space Station has been designed on technology that is already used in the International Space Station (ISS).

But unlike the ISS, the space hotel aims to have artificial gravity so guests can walk around as normal.

The hotel has been designed in a 190m-diameter wheel shape which would rotate so it creates a similar gravitational force to the one felt on the Moon.

The Gateway Foundation hopes to have its space station hotel up and running by 2025 with 100 space tourists visiting each week.
