Pier One Sydney Harbour to open new seafood restaurant

Pier One Sydney Harbour’s new restaurant will draw on its unique heritage and harbourside location to pay homage to its rich seafood history.

Opening its doors on May 1, PIER dining will replace The Gantry to offer a seafood-driven menu in a relaxed setting.

“For the past eight years, Pier One Sydney Harbour has led with fine-dining degustation and chef-selection menus,” said Pier One Sydney Harbour general manager Kim Mahaffy.

“After listening to our guests and the local community we have evolved the restaurant to celebrate a more casual and relaxed style of dining, leading with an a la carte menu, or feed-me menu for those wanting to take the hassle out of ordering.”

French chef Dimitri Damman will helm PIER dining, with a seafood-led menu paying homage to the Oyster Bar and Crab Cooker which the pier once housed.

Featuring produce from nearby shores, the menu will offer takes on familiar favourites, such as a King George Whiting ‘Parmi’ or a Campanelle Carbonara with Home-Cured Kingfish Collar.

The Sydney Rock Oyster is the real star of the menu, available freshly shucked with mignonette, or charred with smoked wagyu fat and coconut vinegar.
