The inaugural 2023 Indo-Pacific Space & Earth Conference (IPSEC) was launched in Perth this week with 440 leaders across the Indo-Pacific and beyond attending the two-day conference exploring opportunities in space, cross-sector technologies and innovation.
These representatives showcased world-leading space technologies including AI, machine learning, quantum, autonomous systems, remote sensing, robotics and next generation communications.
The conference also saw the WA government’s announcement of a $5 million commitment to support the Perth-based facility Fugro-SpAARC.
The funding will boost the complex’s capability for space missions and Western Australia’s strong capability to support international space missions from Perth.
Western Australia has over 100 international and Australian organisations in space and space-related services and ss a home to critical space infrastructure, including the Square Kilometer Array Observatory project.
