PCOA Conference relocates to Sydney for hybrid event

The Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA) has relocated this year’s annual conference from Hobart to Sydney, with a number of satellite locations and virtual options included.

The live site for PCOA20 will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, with satellite events across Australia and New Zealand from December 7-9.

“Regrettably, due to COVID-19, PCOA has had to rethink plans for the annual conference, which was to be held in beautiful Tasmania,” said Barry Neame, PCOA president.

“However, given that travel and movement in general around the world is proving to be difficult, we have used this opportunity to be creative and find other ways to bring our community together, live, local and connected.”

This year’s conference theme is ‘flexibility is the future – live, local and connected’.

“This will be a ‘live’ in-person event at a main hub, supported by satellite locations, and with a virtual component for those who want to view from the comfort of their office,” said Neame.

“The interactive two-day program will examine case studies, explore new ways of preparing for the future, staying connected, and coping with the unexpected.

“We believe it is through the sharing of knowledge the industry can recover and thrive.”
