Outback Festival gears up for 25th anniversary

What began as a small town celebration back in 1972 has grown to welcome visitors from around the country every two years, with The Outback Festival celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a week long event planned in September.

The Queensland town of Winton will welcome 8500 visitors over the festival which features signature events the Quilton Australian Dunny Derby and the Outback Ironman, Iron woman and Iron juniors.

New events will include evening light shows and concerts, monster trucks and spectacular dining under the stars. The program also includes an Indigenous Cultural Program and Workshops.

Olympic cycling champion Sara Carrigan will be attending the festival’s Century Cycle Challenge, chef Matt Golinkski will cook the festival’s sunset dinner and country music star Adam Harvey is headlining the music acts.
