Christchurch Airport’s new Novotel hotel has pushed back its opening date a second time, with bookings now available from December 2.
Bookings for the new Accor hotel were meant to begin this month. Neither Accor nor Christchurch Airport could confirm if the new date was an offical opening date.
The delay follows contractor Fletcher Building “working through the final certification process”.
“Once that is complete they will hand the site to us and the hotel will open,” Fletcher.
The construction of the $80 million 200-bed hotel next to the international terminal has been beset with problems, with its original opening date in 2017 delayed by a string of major setbacks.
