NT’s tourism ‘comeback plan’ includes support for business events and festivals

The Northern Territory Government has unveiled its Territory Tourism Comeback Plan which includes extra funds to support both business events and festivals.

The plan unveiled in the 2021/22 budget this week includes $1 million for the Business Events Support Fund and $4.35 million to delivering festivals and events.

The main focus on the plan is a fourth round of tourism vouchers, with $5 million to fund the latest Territory Tourism Vouchers scheme.

The previous three rounds of the voucher scheme generated $26.7 million in gross sales for Territory businesses.

“The Territory Labor Government’s Territory Tourism Comeback Plan will keep the economy strong and ensure the Northern Territory remains Australia’s ‘Comeback Capital’,” said Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Natasha Fyles.
